Perfect Guest Experience

We made ourselves a cup of tea, put the TV on and enjoyed relaxing without the children. There was a menuon the desk which was great as we were able to decide what we were going to have for dinner. Later, as we entered the pub we received a friendly warm welcome and were taken straight to our table where we received great food and service to match. The quality of food was superb and great value for money too. Having treated ourselves and indulged in 3 courses we were full to the brim! We were most definitely ready for a good night’s sleep. It was luxury to be able to just walk up the stairs to bed. Realising that my husband had forgotten his toothbrush we contacted the team downstairs who provided us with a toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste free of charge. What a lovely touch. It was heaven to get in to a big comfy bed and get nestled in between clean, crisp, ironed sheets. Having 2 plump pillows each was fantastic as it was just like being at home. As we turned the lights off the room was lovely and dark and with the ‘Do not Disturb’ sign on the door we were going to make the most of a night away from home. As we entered the pub we were greeted by a lovely lady called Mandy. She asked which room we were in, informed us we could sit anywhere we like and to help ourselves to the buffet breakfast whenever we were ready. She said “I see you haven’t pre-ordered cooked breakfast but here is a menu of our hot items that we offer. If you would like to order anything then just let me know and I can organise that for you”. We went up and helped ourselves to tea and coffee then browsed the cooked breakfast menu. As it was a special occasion and we weren’t in a rush, we decided to treat ourselves to a full English breakfast! Mandy came to the table and took our order for us. There were a wide variety of fruit & herbal teas, a selection of fresh juices, 11 different cereals, Cereal bars, a great selection of jams & spreads, lovely fresh bread & amazingly good croissants, different flavoured yoghurts and fresh fruit! I was spoilt for choice! Our cooked breakfast was also fantastic. Beautifully presented, piping hot and delivered by Mandy with a smile. As Mandy cleared our empty plates away she asked us what we had planned for the day. We told her we were thinking of going to a couple of places in the local area and she was able to tell us more about them. She also told us about places that we hadn’t seen advertised. She was very helpful and engaging. Mandy advised us that we would be sent a survey regarding our stay via the email address provided on booking/check in and asked if we would spare 5 minutes to complete the on-line survey where not only do they appreciate the feedback but we would be entered in to a draw to win a free weekend away at in Innkeeper’s Lodge of our choice! We popped back to our room to get our belongings before heading out to the local attractions. The housekeepers were already hard at work and they all said “Good Morning” and “Enjoy your day” as we passed them. At the bar we handed in our key and told the gentleman what a fantastic stay we had had. He thanked us for the feedback, said he would pass it on to the team and bid us farewell and a safe journey. After a great night’s sleep, and a lay in without having been disturbed by our children, we were ready to start our day with breakfast. Whilst we were waiting we made the most of the complimentary buffet offer. It was so enticing, well presented, full and fresh that we couldn’t resist!

Our stay at Innkeeper’s Lodge Leeds, Calverley had been fantastic from start to finish. We are already planning on which Innkeeper,s Lodge we were going to stay at next!
